Job Summary
The General Manager, Operations will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operational activities of Etihad Oilfield Services Limited, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and delivering on performance, safety, efficiency, and service excellence. The ideal candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership across projects, field operations, logistics, procurement, and quality assurance, while driving continuous improvement initiatives to achieve long-term business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide overall leadership and direction for the operations team, ensuring optimal resource utilization and operational efficiency.
• Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and systems to improve productivity, quality, and safety.
• Monitor the execution of oilfield services contracts to ensure timely delivery, compliance, and client satisfaction.
• Drive project management efforts to ensure successful planning, execution, monitoring, and closure of field projects.
• Coordinate cross-functional activities including procurement, logistics, maintenance, and field services.
• Identify performance gaps and implement corrective actions to achieve operational targets.
• Ensure adherence to HSE standards and foster a safety-first culture across all operations.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators, vendors, and other key stakeholders.
• Prepare and manage operational budgets; monitor costs and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency.
• Provide regular reports to the executive team on operational performance, risks, and strategic opportunities.
• Lead, mentor, and develop operational staff to improve team capabilities and leadership pipeline.
• Ensure full compliance with all statutory, legal, and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Geosciences, Project Management, or related field. A Master’s degree or MBA is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in oilfield services, with at least 5 years in a senior operations or general management role.
• Strong understanding of the upstream oil and gas sector and field operations.
• Proven ability to lead and manage large, multidisciplinary teams and complex operations.
• Excellent knowledge of HSE regulations and industry standards.
• Demonstrated experience in project management and client relationship management.
• Strong financial and commercial acumen.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
